The Lost Thing: Shadow Puppets

Imagination Station young writers, based in Portslade, have explored ideas of friendship, loneliness and reinvention in this short film. The children aged 7 to 11 created characters made from the items discarded or lost in recycling or scrap stores. Inspired by Shaun Tan’s classic book “The Lost Thing”, the young writers wrote scripts and dialogues between characters meeting and imagined how stories of triumph, adventure and friendship could happen. Enjoy watching these short films, created using traditional shadow puppetry techniques from around the world. Project design by Laura Wilkinson. Guest artist with puppetry making Ruby Campion. Voices, puppets and dialogue by the children of Imagination Station.
