Little Green Pig has launched!

A lot has happened since the last post – we’ve been busy fundraising,  designing a logo and flyers, recruiting volunteers and  generally spreading the word about Little Green Pig. We had our first session at Brighton Youth Centre last Tuesday, where, despite the gales and rain, we had 9  children and young people turn up, and we’re hoping for even more tomorrow. We’ve decided to change our start times so that more people can come after school, so the first session for Piglets (7 – 12s) will now run 4 -5 pm, and the second session for Saddlebacks (13 and up) will run 5.15 – 6.15 pm. It was great to meet our first Piglets and Saddlebacks and we were really impressed by their writing, as I’m sure you will be. We’ve been very grateful for the number of talented people who have offered to help out, ending an extra hand at the workshops or running the sessions themselves.  We’re scheduling in some sessions on journalism and writing for theatre, and hope to have some poets leading some sessions too. If you would like to help out, please get in touch. We have our web wizard busy working on the website too, which we hope will be launched in the next week or so. Lastly, we hope you like our Little Green Pig logo, designed by our talented friend Keiron Lewis.logoweb.jpg
