Runaway pancakes and runaway blogs

Ho hum. I have accidentally deleted a post I wrote a couple of weeks ago, updating you on what we’ve been doing at Little Green Pig over the last few weeks. I even managed to delete a very nice comment from the mother of someone who comes to the sessions. Anyway, here is a brief summary of  the old post. Green pigs and blogging don’t always mix well.

Six weeks into Little Green Pig and the workshops are going even better than we expected. We have a great group of over 20 regular participants coming each week, aged from 7 to 15, each bringing enthusiasm and some great writing. We’ve written about little green pigs and runaway pancakes, we’ve written autobiographical stories, sound poems and twisted fairy tales. Each week we have at least 20 minutes quiet writing time where the group can really focus on getting their ideas down on paper, without feeling restricted by having to spell words correctly – there’s time for that later. We then spend time sharing work with each other and giving and receiving feedback on each other’s writing. Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing some of the two groups’ writing with you. We’d love to hear what you think.
