Chickens, pigs, ponies and crops will provide creative inspiration for a group of young writers on Tuesday 17 August. Little Green Pig’s new Tuesday Club members are heading on a nature trip to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds and smells of a Sussex farm. We can’t wait to see what stories and writing the trip inspires! There is still time to sign up your child if they’d like to be part of this creative writing experience and have a taste of what one of our After School Clubs can offer.
Children from Moulsecoomb, Bevendean and Coldean areas of Brighton and Hove are invited to join us for this free trip to a farm. If your child is interested in growing confidence in their writing and communication skills, would like to meet some new people and make new friends, express their creativity and use their imagination then this could be a good opportunity for them! The trip is designed to be a fun introduction to our After School Club ahead of it relaunching in Autumn. Children aged 7 to 10 years old are welcome to sign up to get a taste of what Tuesday Club is all about and give it a try before becoming a regular member.
See below for how to sign your child up for a place on this trip to the farm with Little Green Pig. The trip is free and all of our After School Clubs each week are free for children to attend too.
When? The farm trip is on Tuesday 17 August 2021, 9.30am to 3pm. Transport will be provided for the group from Moulsecoomb. Places are limited, so get in touch to sign up soon.
What is Tuesday Club? Little Green Pig’s Tuesday Club relaunches this September 2021 and we are currently signing up new members who would like to join us each week for creative writing fun. Tuesday Club is the name of one of our After School Clubs that run weekly, within school term time, across Brighton and Hove and beyond in Sussex. The weekly club (held on Tuesdays 3.30pm-4.45pm) is open to children aged 7 to 10, aimed at children who will be in Years 3 to Year 6 in September 2021. The sessions are led by workshop leader Bex Large, supported by a team of volunteer story mentors and guest artists/writers/collaborators each term. There are usually up to 15 children, of different ages, who attend the club each week to express themselves, improve their confidence and communication skills, and enjoy a wide range of different types of writing for pleasure and for purpose.
Each term children at Tuesday Club can expect to join in a varied range of different creative writing projects as well as playing games, getting to know each other through group activities and sometimes trips to places of inspiration. Previous projects that Tuesday Club young writers have been involved in include writing poems and stories printed in anthologies, creating a travel guide, designing comics and recording radio plays.
Where is Tuesday Club usually? Tuesday Club is open to children from across the Moulsecoomb, Bevenden and Coldean areas of Brighton and Hove. The club usually meets at Moulsecoomb Primary School each week. We are currently confirming that we can meet here again and can keep you updated with the new term’s details once you’ve signed up. Before September, we are going to be visiting a Sussex farm and if your child would like to come on this trip for a taster of what to expect at Tuesday Club, get in touch with us below.
